Starting Line-Whitin Community Center

Volunteers will help check in race participants and supervise 8:30 a.m. start of race.

Transition Sites 1 & 2- Rice City, Uxbridge, MA

Volunteers will assist placement of mountain bikes and kayaks/canoes. Duties will also include traffic control, supervision on the mountain bike course, and recording transition times of teams, both for arrival to transition site from run from Whitin Community Center and departure from transition site upon completion of mountain bike course.

Transition Sites - Mountain Bike Trail- West Hill Dam, Uxbridge, MA - BVNEMBA Volunteers Only

Volunteers from the Blackstone Valley New England Mountain Bike Association will assist with the mountain bike course.

Transition Sites 3 & 4 - River Bend Farm/ Stanley Meadow, Oak Street, Uxbridge, MA

Volunteers will assist in recording transition times of teams from kayak/canoe to street bike. Volunteers also need to be assigned at the portage site behind Tri River Medical Center and at the Stanley Woolen Mill Meadow and the trail run from Stanley Woolen Meadow to River Bend Farm.

9:15am-11:30 a.m.-Stanley Meadow Transition Site & Trail Run Uxbridge, MA 8/8 all spots filled

Volunteers will assist in helping kayakers in landing site on the river, and recording times of teams as they transition to the trail run.

9:30-12 Noon - River Bend Transition Site & Initial Portage Canal to River 10/10 all spots filled

Volunteers need to be placed at the portage point behind Tri-River Health Center to assist paddlers in transitioning from canal to river. A couple volunteers needed to record times of teams as they transition from trail run to the bike segment. Volunteers needed throughout the course to cheer and direct racers.

Transition Site 5, 6 & 7-Wallum Lake/Douglas State Forest

Duties will include traffic control, supervision on the trail run course, supervising paddle down Wallum Lake and back, and recording transition times of teams: bike to trail run, trail run to paddle, and paddle to finish line.

Volunteers will assist Head Timer Richard Nolan at the Finish Line of the race, and will help record times as teams cross the finish line.

Volunteers should be employees of the Whitin Community Center-we need help with setup, meal tickets distribution, WCC table, breakdown, etc.

Course Photographers

Volunteer photographers will be assigned to take pictures at various locations on the course or to get some photo at each transition site moving on to another until at finish line. After race photo will be able to be uploaded or give us a memory card. Tammy Bodwell will be point person.

Volunteer T-Shirt

All registered volunteers will receive a free volunteer tee shirt, to be worn on the day, if registered prior to 9/1/22. After this date t-shirts will be limited on a first come, first serve basis. Each Volunteer will also receive one meal voucher on the day of race at finish line. Volunteer must collect their own meal voucher at voucher table. T-shirts may be available for pickup prior to day of race. Please make sure you show up on time to allow for instruction for assigned job. If choosing to volunteer at more than one site(or job), please make sure times do not overlap.
